GOVERNOR APPOINTS RAM SINGH TO REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD

Rameshwar Singh, Ph.D., 70, of
San Jose , has been appointed to the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board.
He has worked at
San Jose
State
University as an associate professor since 1967 and a professor of water resource engineering since 1977. Singh previously was a consultant in numerous capacities including in hydrodynamics for Lockheed from 1979 to 1984; in fluid mechanics for General Electric Company from 1975 to 1977; in water resources for the Santa Clara Valley Water District from 1968 to 1972; and in flow profiles for
Jennings , McDermott & Heiss from 1971 to 1973.
Additionally, he served part-time as staff engineer for the nuclear division for General Electric Company from 1974 to 1975. Singh is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, American Society for Engineering Education and is past statewide president of the California Society of Professional Engineers.
This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Singh is a Republican.
