VIRGINIA CHANG KIRALY APPPOINTED TO COMMISSION FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Looks Forward To Ensuring California's Economy Remains Strong

Virginia Chang Kiraly of San Mateo County was recently appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger to the California Commission for Economic Development (4th from right in photo).  Virginia, a Menlo Park resident, was the 2006 Republican nominee for the State Assembly in Assembly District 21.  She is a former Senior Director of the Nasdaq Stock Market with her professional background in financial services.  She is actively involved with the community having served on the boards of The Tech Museum of Innovation, Asia America MultiTechnology Association (AAMA), Cultural Initiatives Silicon Valley, and as former President of the Las Lomitas PTA.  Besides her work as a Commissioner, Virginia serves on the San Mateo County Grand Jury and is Vice President of SPARC (South Peninsula Area Republican Coalition) and Republicans for Environmental Protection's California Chapter Executive Committee.  She is a delegate to the CRP and is on the San Mateo and Santa Clara County Central Committees.

Says Virginia of her new appointment, "I am deeply honored to be appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger to join this important Commission.  Economic development is one of the most important issues California faces as we move forward in the 21st century.  My goal is to help ensure that California remains an economic driver of the global economy and that our unique innovative spirit continues with future generations.  I look forward to hearing from all communities to make sure the very best ideas are discussed by the Commission so that we can keep California's economy strong."
