A Letter to the Citizens of Saratoga:

            My name is Chuck Page and I am a candidate for the Saratoga City Council.  My wife and I chose to raise our two young children in Saratoga because of its rural charm and superb school districts.

            I am running because Saratoga residents need representation who will listen and act.  I have served this area in many capacities including: Saratoga Planning Commission, Senior Center (SASCC) Board, Friends of Saratoga Library Board, Saratoga’s 50^th Board.

I am a man dedicated to rolling up my sleeves and taking action to help others.  We must make improvements while protecting our culture and the unique atmosphere we have here.  Using my common sense, our city code and constitution, and my time and talent, I will continue to preserve the charm that exists in here and enhance our community to ensure that our children, and their children after them, will experience this beauty and treasure, too.  This is my vision for Saratoga.

I will represent you on our City Council to make the following Positive Changes:

• IMPROVE OUR SARATOGA VILLAGE by developing a SENSIBLE ECONOMIC PLAN and collaborating with our Chamber of Commerce to help businesses thrive, using common sense and community input. 

• Create strong, ongoing PARTNERSHIPS WITH OUR SCHOOL DISTRICTS and user groups to ensure that playing field use is distributed - not focused in one neighborhood.

• ENHANCE PROGRAMS FOR SENIORS AND OUR YOUTH.  As a parent, I know how seriously our children need safe parks and safe roads near the schools and parks.  We must work together to provide viable, well-attended programs for our Seniors.  These are Saratoga's issues to resolve, and working TOGETHER, we will.

• ENSURE SOUND FISCAL MANAGEMENT of the city's limited resources.  The addition of TEA funding mandates that we have a strategic plan, and effectively.

• NO NEW TAXES - we must continue to seek out alternative sources:  state/federal funds, etc., to maintain and improve our key services (street pavement, etc.) during tough economic times.

• Earnestly seek to UTILIZE THE NORTH CAMPUS for Seniors, Youth and other groups - we must move forward now and actively use the North Campus.

• IMPROVE COMMUNICATIONS - when we communicate more, we work together better and we resolve problems more effectively.
